Nursing is a Lifelong Process

The most important aspect of one’s career begins with the individual’s
desire to pursue a profession that will never become stagnant. I know that a
career in nursing is what I want to achieve. Nursing would allow me to
exploit my genuine attributes which include, but are not limited to,
listening and compassion. As a nurse, I would be able to dedicate what is
most important to me in life and give that to other people. There is no
greater reward than attaining the feeling of achievement. Pursuing a career
as a nurse is the best career for me because of the in depth continued
learning process that not only consists of health care services, but is
totally dependent upon the individual’s desire to perform the best service
they can. As I become a nurse, I know that I will always be able to keep
expecting more of myself. The medical field is full of countless
opportunities that allow the learning process to continue and nursing is one
of the best ways to begin that learning process. As a nurse, I would be able
to continue the learning process which would allow me to better fulfill my
commitment to provide the best and most complete health service I can
achieve.

One Girl With One Big Dream

Life as a kid wasn’t easy for me. Between having a brother 2 years older
than me that has multiple mental disabilities, and myself having an OCD
(obsessive compulsive disorder) called trichotillomania, which is the
pulling of hair from the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes and etc.....so you can
imagine that my life wasn’t a box of chocolates like they say. I’ve had
this disorder since I was 5 years old, and was I mad fun of in schoo? The
answer is YES, more than you could ever imagine! I am about to be 21 years
old, and have finally decided that nursing in pediactrics is what I want to
major in college. All those years of being made fun of for what I look like
on the outside and not wanted to get to know me for me personality really
pushes me to want to be somebody. Someone that helps others, in which I love
to do! Right now I am working fulltime at the Lancaster Regional Hospital as
a pharmacy tech, and I like my job, I just want to advance to a high
education status, in a career that I LOVE! My plans are to go to school part
time and then work at the hospital fulltime and once I finish college I will
get a career at one of the hospitals in my area majoring in
neonatal/pediactrics!
