Candidates for the GOR: Registered Nurse First Assistant must maintain active nursing license in the State of Maryland. Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required. Three years experience working as a Registered Nurse, with at least 2 years experience working in an operating room required. CNOR certification required.

The GOR Registered Nurse First Assistant is responsible for:
Carrying out the functions that will assist the surgical team in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
Functions in the circulator or scrub role when the RN First Assistant role is not required.
Provides evidence-based care promoto0ng quality and excellence based on the nursing process, policies, procedures, and protocols of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize team performance.
patient outcomes
Promotes quality improvement initiatives in unit and organizational systems to benefit patient care.
Incorporates and operationalizes goals and objectives of Hospital at the site of patient care.

Requires a minimum of 3 years related experience.
